Application Details and Eligibility


The Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union, offers a challenging career to young and dynamic Indian male candidates for various branches as an Assistant Commandant(Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers) and invites ‘online’ application for following posts:

  1. General Duty
  2. General Duty (Pilot)
  3. Pilot(CPL)

Age-Criteria:

Branch Age (Born between)
General Duty 01 Jul 1993 to 30 Jun 1997
General Duty (Pilot) 01 Jul 1993 to 30 Jun 1999
Pilot(CPL) 01 Jul 1993 to 30 Jun 1999

Note: Both dates inclusive.

Eligibilty:

Branch Educational Qualification
General Duty

Bachelor’s degree of recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate

OR

class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education

OR

60% aggregate marks in Maths & Physics

General Duty (Pilot)
Pilot(CPL) 12th class pass with 60% marks in aggregate and should posses current/valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued/validated by DGCA on the date of submission of application

Note: 

  1. Only candidates cleared their final year/ final semester exams and completed their degrees are to apply.
  2. Candidate can apply for one branch only. Filling of multiple applications will result in cancellation of all applications of such candidates.

Medical Standards:

(a) Height.

  • Asst Commandant (GD): 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations.
  • Asst Commandant (Pilot) and CPL holders : Height Minimum 162.5 cms, leg length minimum 99 cms.

(b) Weight. Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.

(c) Chest. Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.

(d) Eye Sight.

  • Asst Commandant (GD) - 6/6 6/9 - Uncorrected without Glass | 6/6 6/6 - Corrected with Glass.
  • Asst Commandant GD(Pilot)/ 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other CPL holders SSA correctable to 6/6.

(e) Tattoo. Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body. However certain concessions are permitted to candidates belonging to tribal areas’ communities as declared by the Govt. of India. For other candidates permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/back (dorsal) side of hand. Admit Card:

Applicants to take print out of the e-admit card through URL http://joinindiancoastguard.gov.in/reprint.aspx from 08 Jul 2017 to 14 Jul 2017 only post short listing of the online application.

Pay Scale:

On joining Coast Guard you will be placed in Basic Pay Rs.56,100 (Pay Level- 10) as per 7th Pay Commission.

Further promotions to the ranks will be as per the laid down promotion criteria. The pay scales for the various ranks are as follows:-
